i'm off to canada for four weeks tomorrow and i decided to take along a knitting project.
a few days ago this book arrived and i actually thought about starting to knit such a cardigan. the patterns are so beautiful and i've been thinking about buying this book for ages. i totally love these patterns especially this one:
but in the end i had to realize that i won't have enough space in my suitcase to take along so many skeins of wool (not to mention if i had ever been able to knit it at all).
i actually wanted to join nadja's knit along but i had to order the wool and it didn't make it in time to come along on holidays. i'll definitely give it a go when i'm back though as i really like the pattern. so i decided to go for a baby jacket, the garter stitch jacket found here.

morgen fliege ich für vier wochen nach kanada und ich dachte ich könnte ein strickprojekt mitnehmen. nachdem ich viele male das buch 'knit swirl' auf amazon und auf der website knitswirl.com angeschaut hatte, habe ich es mir endlich bestellt. die muster und variationen sind wunderbar und ich wollte zunächst eine solche jacke beginnen. ich musste aber einsehen, dass es in meinem koffer kaum mehr platz hat für so viel wolle. eigentlich wollte ich bei nadjas knit along mitmachen aber ich musste die wolle bestellen und sie hats nicht rechtzeitig geschafft um mit auf reisen zu kommen. ich werde das projekt aber sicherlich nach den ferien angehen weil mir das jäckchen sehr gefällt. deshalb habe ich mich nun zum schluss für das garter stitch baby jäckchen entschieden.

Schöne Ferien! Ich nehm immer sehr viel Wolle mit in den Urlaub - hatte beim letzten Flug aber auch gute 6 kg Übergewicht... na ja, das war schon nicht nur die Wolle :-)
