Sidewalk Shawl...

i finally finished the sidewalk shawl! while crocheting i wasn't entirely sure of the yarn and hook i used  as the shawl just didn't seem to get nearly as big as it looks on the pattern picture. 

after blocking it grew much bigger though and i must say i like it very much. i decided not to add the tassels and prefer it that way so far. the pattern is fab (and free!) and the result stunning! 

i used a lang merino yarn which gave me a rather bulky result. i'll try again with a slightly less bulky yarn and opt for a much bigger size to wear over coats. the pattern is fairly easy as long as you keep track of the counting.

endlich ist mein sidewalk shawl fertig. lange fristete er ein unfertiges dasein in meinem korb und letzte woche habe ich dann entschieden, ihm endlich ein ende zu bereiten. ich war lange nicht sicher, ob ich die richtige wolle und das richtige häkchen benutze, da das tuch so mickrig schien. nach dem spannend wurde das tuch aber noch noch um einiges grösser. die fransen habe ich weggelassen, es gefällt mir soweit besser so. ich kann das häkelpattern nur empfehlen, das muster ist wunderschön und kostenlos! 

ich habe eine lang merino wolle verwendet und damit ein sehr dickes ergebnis erhalten. ich werde sicher noch einen sidewalk häkeln, diesmal mit dünnerem garn und einigen rapporten mehr, damit das tuch richtig schön gross wird um über einem mantel zu tragen.
